The formula for flawless hair starts with proper care. Follow the Alchemy Hair Lab care formula to help keep your bundles soft, manageable, and beautiful throughout each wear.

Before Your First Install

PLEASE INSPECT YOUR HAIR BEFORE WASHING OR INSTALLATION. Confirm that you received the correct texture and lengths and inspect the overall condition of your bundles.

WASH YOUR BUNDLES BEFORE INSTALLATION. We recommend washing and conditioning all bundles before your first install. Gently shampoo and condition the hair, rinse thoroughly, and allow the bundles to air dry completely. This also gives you a chance to see the hair’s natural texture and condition before installation.

Step 01 — Detangle

Gently detangle your hair before washing or styling. Start at the ends and work your way toward the wefts using a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush. Avoid pulling or tugging on the hair.

Step 02 — Wash

Wash as needed using lukewarm water and a gentle, moisturizing shampoo. Work the product through the hair in a downward motion. Avoid aggressively rubbing, twisting, or bunching the hair together, as this can encourage tangling.

Step 03 — Condition

Follow with a moisturizing conditioner, focusing primarily on the mid-lengths and ends. Rinse thoroughly. For added moisture, a deep-conditioning treatment may be used as needed.

Step 04 — Dry

Gently blot excess water with a towel—do not rub the hair. Air drying is recommended whenever possible. If using a blow dryer, apply heat protectant and use a controlled heat setting.

Step 05 — Style

Always use a heat protectant before applying heat. Avoid excessive or repeated high heat, which can shorten the lifespan of the hair.

Lab-Approved Product Recommendations

  • Shampoo + Conditioner: TRESemmé Silky & Smooth or Suave Moroccan Infusion
  • Silk / Finishing Serum: CHI Silk Infusion — use a small amount through the lengths and ends.
  • Deep Conditioning Treatment: Silicon Mix — use as needed for deeper conditioning.
  • Clear Shine Treatment: Adore Crystal Clear — optional for refreshing shine.
  • Clarifying Shampoo: Kenra clarifying shampoo — use occasionally when there is noticeable product buildup rather than as your everyday shampoo.

Alchemy Tip: Less is more. Always rinse products thoroughly and avoid overloading your bundles with oils, serums, or conditioners. Excess product buildup can leave hair feeling heavy or dull.

Wavy & Curly Textures

For wavy and curly textures, detangle gently while damp and use lightweight moisturizing products as needed. Scrunch the hair to help define the pattern and allow it to air dry when possible. Avoid brushing curls while dry if you want to preserve their definition.

Coloring & Bleaching

Our hair can be customized, but chemical processing can affect the condition and longevity of any human hair. We recommend having bleaching, coloring, and other chemical services performed by an experienced professional. Always perform a strand test before processing the full bundle.

Nighttime Care

Before bed, gently detangle your hair and secure it in a loose braid, ponytail, or other low-tension protective style. Protect the hair with a satin or silk bonnet or scarf, or sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase.

Swimming & Exercise

Chlorine, salt water, sweat, and frequent moisture exposure can dry or tangle the hair. Secure the hair before swimming or intense exercise and cleanse and condition it afterward when needed.

Storage

When the hair is not installed, make sure it is completely dry, gently detangled, and stored in a clean, dry place. Avoid storing damp hair.
